Patrick McMahon
FounderPat McMahon is the Principal and founding Director/Partner of Patrick McMahon LL.B Solicitors. Pat was admitted to the role of solicitors in 1988. After qualifying, he was employed in private practice in Newry and Lurgan before establishing Patrick McMahon LL.B Solicitors with offices in Craigavon and Newry.
Pat practises in all areas of law but focuses on Criminal Law, Family Law, Wills & Probate and Conveyancing, both residential and commercial.
Pat represents clients on a very frequent basis in the Family Courts and Criminal Courts and has represented clients in a number of high-profile criminal cases. In his Family practice, Pat has represented clients involved in residence (custody) and contact (access) disputes including in cases where parents have sought to relocate children to another jurisdiction. Pat has also dealt with numerous care cases and adoption cases including cases of overseas adoption.

Peter Hearty
Director/PartnerPeter is a Director/Partner, having joined the firm in 2001. He qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and initially practised in Ipswich.
Like Pat, Peter practises in a number of areas of law and specialises in Civil Litigation including Personal Injury Claims and Medical Negligence Claims, Family Law and Criminal Law.
Peter also regularly appears in the Family Courts and Criminal Courts and has represented clients charged with serious criminal offences. He has represented clients in all tiers of the Family Courts, including contested care cases and adoption cases. Peter has also acted for clients in high value personal injury, medical negligence and criminal injury cases involving clients who unfortunately have had catastrophic outcomes following negligent medical treatment or assaults.
